Sometimes we need to get out of our comfort zone, or at least the four walls of our everyday life, to rejuvenate and gain bandwidth for problem solving. Watch the sun dip into the horizon, animals frolic, or local people stroll. Tend to daily life or become lost in a beautiful painting. These activities can bring you answers to big questions.
Join Dr Sonya, a licensed Marriage and Family therapist, for one of her two programs: Theracation and Travel with Intention. Both are an adventurous and meaningful ways to gain a different lens and move you towards more of the life you desire. Travel with Intention is offered multiple times a year with a destination and theme selected by Dr Sonya to bring like-minded people together to travel and have a therapeutic experience. Theracations are customized therapeutic travel experiences designed around your specific needs and goals. We explore different parts of the world with a nutritive and adventurous, curated trip. We experience an environment that renews your senses, helps you gain clarity, and rewires thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you.
Both Theracations and Travel with Intention incorporate guided meditations, journaling exercises, one-on-one conversations, group discussions, adventures, and group play to help you connect with your inner self and others. Both are designed for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Travel With Intention
When I was young, my Mimi would say that the best way to help yourself is to help others. When we travel to places and support people in other cultures and economic situations, an incredible shift happens in our brain. Immersion in other cultures gives one a broader perspective, appreciation, and gratitude. Research shows gratefulness is a big contributor to mental health and nurtures contentment and joy. A typical Travel with Intention incorporates a day of service to the local community. It may involve planting a tree, digging a well, painting a community building, or visiting kids in school and gifting school supplies. We interact with the local community and give back!
Dr Sonya orchestrates group travel to include intentional and meaningful experiences. In this setting, you will immerse yourself in a supportive community of kindred souls who share experiences and support one another along the path to healing and self-discovery.
Theracations
Theracations differ from Travel with Intention and are tailored to location and therapeutic intensity for the individual, group, couple, or family’s desire.
Individuals embark on a personal journey of self-discovery, clarity, and rejuvenation to explore new destinations while connecting with their inner self and moving closer to the fulfilling life desired. We design the itinerary and program together around your goals.
Couples strengthen bonds and reignite the spark in the relationship with an explorative and meaningful journey together. This is a transformative experience that deepens connections and creates lasting memories.
