  • Calm the chaos and increase the connection in your family

Are You Walking on Eggshells Because Your Teenager Has Turned Your Household Upside Down?

As a parent coach and family therapist, I’ll equip your family to get your teen back on track.

You can have deep connections and peace in your home.

You’ve probably tried everything to help your teenager and deal with the struggles in your family, but you’re at a loss as to what to do next.

    You’re frustrated, overwhelmed and exhausted.

Maybe you feel you’re failing as a parent.

Let me assure you – you’re NOT failing.

Parenting an adolescent may be one of the most challenging experiences you have as a parent.

So, if you’re hard on yourself, I encourage you to be compassionate and give yourself a high five that you have the wisdom to seek the help of a family specialist.

Behavior your teen may be exhibiting:

    • Uncooperative or defiant
    • Withdrawn, isolated or depressed
    • Abusing food, alcohol or drugs
    • Problems with peers
    • Failure to launch
    • Living on screens

As a Family Therapist and Parent Coach, I Can Help You and Your Teen Become More Confident, Cooperative and More Connected…

With my help, you’ll be able to reconnect with your teen and understand the unmet needs under their behavior.

Communication will improve, which will strengthen your relationship.

You’ll feel more confident and capable as a parent.

Your mind will be at ease knowing your teen is doing better.

You’ll have tools to help you handle any situations that occur in the future.

Together we’ll create a path to shift understanding and create more harmonious and meaningful family relationships.

    Family Therapy

Family Intensives are ideal for families desiring a deeper connection where there is a concern about a teen or young adult. Common teenage behaviors that a Family Intensive can address include depression, anxiety, defiance, and other emotional or behavioral issues.

Our time together will help you and your child feel more hopeful, motivated, and less conflicted while bringing greater harmony into your family. Intensives are designed for you to have fun as well. Having fun together makes time together feel safer and more desirable.

Working with your family in an Intensive helps me better understand your teenager/young child and family than I’d be able to in weekly therapy sessions.

I witness the patterns and dynamics of your communication and behaviors as they unfold. We work through situations in the moment, which is more effective than retelling what happened days to weeks later.

Our extended time together creates the space and feelings of safety for every family member to be heard without interruption. Your family can build momentum and work on a deeper level. This means change in your family can occur more quickly.

Intensives are tailored to your family’s specific needs. The typical home intensive is 3 days, yet it can vary from 1 to 7 days. Together we’ll decide how many days may work best for you, your teen, and your family.

    In-Home Family Intensives

I’ll come into your home and facilitate activities, exercises, and conversations that you all participate in together. We often include active and fun activities in the community such as walking, hiking, kayaking, rollerblading, or other activities your family enjoys or are willing to try.

    Adventure Family Therapy Intensives

Adventure intensives are where we go into nature for 3-6 days. Being in nature allows your teen and family to unplug, calm your nervous systems, become more present, engage in healthy physical activity, and most importantly, have fun!

Recent research shows families desire more experiential work in nature than any other delivery of family therapy (Rodriguez, 2020). The therapeutically designed activities and facilitated discussions enhance family understanding, problem-solving, and connection.

Mountain sports adventures may include skiing, cycling, hiking, rafting, or any other activity your family chooses. We can go camping, glamping or stay in a lodge.

Sea sports adventures may include kayaking, paddle boarding, scuba diving, windsurfing. We can stay on a boat, in a hotel or a nearby camping area.
